GLOSSINIDAE

The Glossinidae are represented by the single genus, Glossina, which is the tse tse of Africa (Fig. 5-52). These flies are the vectors of African trypanosomiasis which is passed through their bite. Cats like other vertebrates are probably bitten by this fly.
