This species was described based on a collection of worms form the lungs of 12 of 50 cats that were examined in Madras, India. Each cat was found infected with only one to four worms except from two cats that each harbored about a dozen adult worms. The worms are white and thread-like. The males are about 7 to 15 mm long and the females are 13 to 30 mm long. The esophagus is divided into a distinct slender anterior muscular portion and a longer posteriad glandular portion. The excretory pore is posterior to the nerve ring and anteriad to the junction of the muscular and glandular portions of the esophagus. The spicules are similar and measure about 150 μm to 190 μm in length; a gubernaculum is present. The vulva of the female is located just anterior to the anus; the posterior portion of the uterus contains thick-shelled, embryonated, ovoid eggs that measure 40 μm to 45 μm long by 25 μm to 35 μm in width.
