Specimens identified as belonging to the genus Echinoparyphium was recovered from 16 of 59 cats in the midlands of Tasmania (Gregory GG, Munday BL. 1976. The species of fluke was not identified, and no signs or pathology due to the parasites were described. The life cycle of these parasites also involves tadpoles and frogs as intermediate hosts.
